Monoethanolamine
The ethanolamine has found a wide field of use. The free
bases are recommended in addition to tincture baths, to pastes for printing,
to galvanic baths ant to the baths of photographic processing, to size,
etc. they are used as antioxidant, as agents to prevent corrosion in chlorination
of by-products containing oxygen in iron containers, as accelerant of
polymerization in co-polymerization of maleic esters with vinyl derivatives,
to modify the urea-formaldehyde resins. The ethanolamine are widely used
in gases purification to eliminate the weakly acid constituents, such
as carbonic acid and hydrogen sulphide. They are proposed to refine oils
and greases, to deacidify, for example, oils that are used as lubricant.
The ethanolamine are also used to prepare painting materials.
Ethanolamine are especially used in form of salt with fat acids. These
soaps, thanks to their low alkalinity, do not attack the skin and the
tissues; they are also soluble in water, in greases, in oils and in organic
solvents and they have an extraordinary emulsifying power.
Basing on these properties they are suitable to prepare hypo eliminators,
detergents, products to wash hair and as additives in chemical cleaning.
The ethanolamina soaps, and especially the soprattutto i saponi di triethanolamina,
they are widely used as emulsifying for the most different technical preparations,
as oils for textiles and leather, dressings, creams and cosmetics and
as salve in pharmaceutical.
